Submit the application form and we will personally get back to you within 24 hours with detailed information about the routes, accommodation, logistics and participation options. Only 12 places are available per camp.

Everything except your travel to Bulgaria: 7 nights of premium accommodation, breakfast and dinner prepared by the VELOVIA chef, 6 guided riding days with full road support and a mechanic, daily recovery massage, sauna and wellness, professional photos and video, the VELOVIA kit and sports insurance.

Early Booking prices for bookings made by 15 February 2027: €1,850 per person in a shared double/twin room, €2,100 per person in a single room (€250 supplement), and €1,250 per person for a non-riding companion sharing a double room with the rider.

For the 2027 season, your booking is confirmed with a 50% deposit. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before the camp starts. For bookings made less than 30 days before the start date, the full amount is payable. If you cancel more than 60 days before the camp starts, the amount paid is refunded minus a €100 administration fee. If you cancel 30–59 days before the start, the 50% deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel less than 30 days before the start, the amount paid is non-refundable. Where possible, your booking can be transferred to another VELOVIA camp in the 2027 season, subject to availability and confirmation by VELOVIA, for a €100 fee.

Yes. A non-riding companion pays €1,250 per person when sharing a double room with the participating rider. This includes 7 nights, breakfast and dinner with the group, access to the accommodation’s spa/wellness facilities where available, and participation in the social programme. Cycling-specific services — guided rides, road support, mechanic, cycling massage, cycling insurance and the VELOVIA kit — are not included.

If VELOVIA cancels a camp, you can choose between a full refund of everything paid to VELOVIA for that camp, or a free transfer of your booking to another camp in the 2027 season, subject to availability. Costs paid to third parties, such as flights or extra accommodation, are not part of the refund.

The riding & preparation

It depends on the format and region. Performance days are roughly 38–127 km, while Dolce Vita and Ladies Ride days are roughly 22–48 km. Every camp includes 6 riding days. Dolce Vita and Ladies Ride suit riders with basic fitness who ride regularly; Performance is for better-prepared riders with good endurance and experience on longer mountain routes.

Dolce Vita and Ladies Ride are suitable for riders with basic fitness who ride regularly. Performance is designed for better-prepared riders with good endurance and experience on longer, mountainous routes.

Performance is the format with longer distances, more climbing and a focus on development and endurance. Dolce Vita offers a more relaxed pace, shorter routes and more time for the experience off the bike. Ladies Ride follows the Dolce Vita philosophy but is created especially for a women’s group – with a supportive atmosphere, confidence and community.

This is not a race. We ride as one small group with a professional guide, regrouping on climbs and at feed stops. The support van is always behind the group, so nobody is ever left alone on the road.

Yes. Daily route briefings, riding tips, post-ride discussions and practical advice on pacing, climbing, nutrition and recovery are part of the VELOVIA experience.

A compact crankset (50/34) with an 11–32 or 11–34 cassette is ideal for the long, steady Rhodope climbs.

You can bring your own bike or rent a carbon road bike from us — just mark it in the application form and we will confirm availability and sizing personally. A mechanic looks after every bike daily.

Yes. We recommend bringing your own bike whenever possible. For riders who prefer to travel light, VELOVIA offers a limited fleet of four high-end carbon road bikes available as an optional extra. Rental is €40 per day and includes a helmet and bottles; sizes S (1), M (2) and L (1). Please book it when you register for the camp, and bring your own pedals and shoes.

Your stay & recovery

In a private room at the premium base of your camp: Villa Sintica in Sandanski, Monte SPA Villas in Banya or Villa GORA in Progled. See the Accommodation page for details.

Every rider receives a daily recovery massage as part of the programme. Together with the sauna, outdoor jacuzzi and dedicated recovery time, it helps you recharge for the next day’s ride.

Every rider receives a daily 20-minute recovery massage focused on the legs and the muscle groups most affected by long hours on the bike. Guests who wish to enjoy longer or full-body massage treatments may book additional sessions, subject to availability and an additional fee.

Recovery massages are provided by a professional massage therapist who is part of the VELOVIA team during the camp. The treatments are designed to support post-ride recovery, reduce muscle fatigue, and help riders feel refreshed and ready for the next day on the bike.

Yes. The sauna is available daily throughout the camp and is prepared each afternoon after the ride. Together with the outdoor jacuzzi and recovery massage, it forms an important part of the VELOVIA recovery experience.

Our private chef prepares three meals a day with fresh, local Rhodope ingredients: a sports breakfast before the ride, recovery nutrition after, and dinner around a shared table.

Yes. Tell us about allergies or preferences in the application form and the chef will plan around them.

Logistics

For Sandanski and Banya we recommend Sofia Airport (SOF); for Progled, Sofia or Plovdiv (PDV). VELOVIA organises transfers on request, including transport of your bike.

Most riders fly with a bike bag or box — all airlines flying to Sofia accept bikes as sports luggage. If you prefer to travel light, rent one of our carbon bikes instead.

Your welcome kit already includes a premium jersey, bottle and aero socks. For the rest, see the How to Pack checklist — mountain weather means layers, even in summer.

Cool summer temperatures are one of the six reasons we ride here — expect pleasant riding weather between July and September, with crisp mountain mornings. Pack layers for the descents.

Yes. Sports accident insurance is included for every participant throughout the camp. In addition, all participants must hold valid personal health and travel insurance covering the entire duration of their trip and stay in Bulgaria.

Safety comes first. In unsuitable conditions the programme is adapted, and when riding isn’t possible we run cycling-related seminars, workshops and training sessions – technique, preparation, nutrition, recovery and analysis.
